Abstract: : In this paper, we introduce the JUMP-DP DSM system, which integrates two novel techniques to improve DSM performance: The migrating-home protocol, which adapts better to the memory access patterns of most DSM applications, is able to reduce the amount of data communicating among machines to maintain memory consistency; and the use of Socket-DP, a kernel module which provides lowlatency communication with an easy-to-use socket interface, is able to outperform BSD Sockets by at least 12.9% due...
