Abstract: As we prepare ourselves to take a joyride in the ubiquitous computing world of the 21st century, we must also be prepared to face the challenges from the netherworld of hackers, who now have avenues to reach us. The recent ``denial-of-service'' attacks that infested the major web sites are signs of an unsafe Internet.
