Abstract: This report describes how techniques from the AI community could be leveraged to provide several of the advanced process management capabilities envisioned by the workflow community. The report focuses on the role that AI technologies can play in the construction of workflow engines that manage complex processes, while remaining robust, reactive, and adaptive in the face of both environmental and tasking changes. Three subfields of AI are directly relevant to these objectives for WFM, and as... (Update)
