Abstract: In mobile computing environments, conditions are often highly variable and resources severely limited. In order to provide an acceptable quality of service, a mobile system should dynamically adapt itself to changes. Adaptations can take place in different layers of a system including application, middleware, operating system, and hardware layers. Adaptation within a single layer may be insufficient to address a particular problem, and independent adaptations at different layers may conflict... (Update)
