Abstract: agents
are
program
code
and
data
that
can
migrate
from
one
computer
to
another
over
the
Internet.
Both
the
mobile
agents
and
their
hosts
are
thus
vulnerable
to
malicious
attacks
and
breaches
of
security .
In
this
paper,
we
address
two
security
problems,
the
malicious
agent
problem
and
the
malicious
host
problem,
in
the
context
of
the
MAgNET
e-commerce
system
that
we
have
developed.
We
present
a
security
mechanism
that
solves
both
of
these
problems
and
that
does
not
rely
on
a
central
server
