Abstract: One of the most important performance measure for real time applications is the packet loss probability. In a wireless environment losses are rst due to noisy channels (fading, shadowing etc). In order to improve the radio link, one often retransmits packets that have not been well received (using the Automatic Retransmission reQuest - ARQ). This however may lead to queuing phenomena due to retransmissions and to losses of packets due to bu er overow. We present a queuing analysis in order to... (Update)
