Abstract: The Internet has changed considerably the scale of distributed systems, motivating
the demand for more flexible communication models and systems. Individual
point-to-point and synchronous communications, which tend to lead to rigid
and static applications, are making way for the more loosely coupled interaction
such as is supported by a publish-subscribe paradigm. (Update)
