Abstract: this dissertation. We begin our presentation by briefly recalling a few notions of fairness that have been presented in the literature, discussing the implications of each definition in the context of probabilistic systems. We then introduce our version of fairness, called probabilistic fairness, and we present the temporal logics FPTL and FPTL*, derived from GPTL and GPTL*. In these new logics, the semantics of 164 8.1. AN OVERVIEW OF FAIRNESS 165 the path quantifiers and of the... (Update)
