Abstract: Introduction A modern machinery system (aircraft, spacecraft, road or rail vehicles etc.) is very complex and depends on and incorporates a number of functions, for example mission management, control of dynamics, external communication, diagnostics, and maintenance support, all with dependencies and message exchanges.
