Abstract: . In this paper we consider the Dirac operator DM on manifolds M which are, apart from submanifolds of codimension k+1, warped products where the bers are k{dimensional spheres. By means of a suitable decomposition of the space of spinors and an abstract operator theoretic result, we show for k > 1 that the spectrum of a Dirac operator DM is symmetric with respect to 0 and has a gap around 0. We establish estimates for its eigenvalues, in particular we show that k 2fmax is a lower bound... (Update)
