Abstract: . We define the notion of a snap-back repeller for a continuous transformation from a Hausdor# topological space to itself. We prove three consequent implications: a snap-back repeller implies that an iterate of the transformation is 2-adic; 2-adicity implies the existence of two scrambled-like sets which exhibit very complex behavior of the transformation; and one of these sets in turn implies the existence of an uncountable number of ergodic continuous invariant measures with pairwise...
