Abstract: Understanding the performance of digital filters in terms of their frequency -domain behavior has undeniable practical utility. For adaptive filters the necessary supporting analysis was begun in earnest in the mid 1980s, primarily in the system identification literature. This contribution brings this frequency-domain performance orientation to the classical orthogonalized parameter-space, average error system analysis of the LMS algorithm. We visualize frequency domain performance of an... (Update)
