Abstract: Hybrid High-Level Nets (HyNets) represent a new
methodology for modeling and simulation of complex
systems consisting of a mixture of discrete and continuous
components. This paper explains the basic ideas of
the new approach and demonstrates its suitability for
modeling hybrid systems by a practical example representative
in the area of industrial applications. Then,
it presents a concept appropriate for the simulation of
HyNet models by digital computers.
