Abstract:
This paper describes the design and performance of IDES, a Java-based distributed simulation engine being developed at Sandia National Laboratories. The feasability of using Java is demonstrated by achieving order of magnitude speedup gains, on a model with three quarters of a million simulated entities, on a "off-the-shelf " system of 56
