Abstract: Hybrid Distributed Shared Memory (DSM) systems are shared-memory multiprocessor architectures with software-implemented coherence protocols and hardware support for fine-grain sharing. In this paper we compare the design issues and performance consequences for adopting in hybrid DSM four memory organizations inspired from existing architectures: CC-NUMA, RC-NUMA, S-COMA, and COMA.
