Abstract: This paper discusses the concepts developed within the DOMINO project on Domain
Management for Open Systems, and how these concepts are implemented. Domains are a
means of grouping objects, distinct from the management policies which are specified in
terms of domains. Domains and policies are discussed from the viewpoint of both the
manager and the underlying mechanisms which implement them. The emphasis of the user
view is on conceptual clarity and the emphasis of the mechanism view is on... (Update)
