Abstract: This paper describes the DAFS data mining file server. Current data mining tools often
suffer from limited functionality and poor cost performance on data sets greater than 1
GByte. This has led to an increased interest in solutions which exploit parallel hardware.
However, systems based on parallel technology have explored the parallelisation of their
artificial intelligence components in isolation from the database component. This conflicts
with the well established fact that at least 80% of... (Update)
