A Probabilistic Cut-o Technique

Abstract:
A main problem with the cut-o technique for combining the sweepline method with equivalence reduction is the reliance on user-provided cut-o predicates. We propose to replace the use of cut-o predicates with a probabilistic method for selecting equivalence classes for the cut-o set.
