Abstract: It is widely recognized that the scalable and efficient management of large, heterogeneous information technology infrastructures requires middleware that allows the extension of managed resources with new functionality at runtime. A recent and promising approach is the Java Dynamic Management Kit (JDMK) that relies on the JavaBeans component technology.
