Abstract: This paper is concerned with multi-user detection (MUD)
in mobile communication systems. Its purpose is to give an
insight to the problems of Code Division Multiple Access
(CDMA) and to propose novel algorithms for multi-user detection.
MUD has gained much attention due to the poor
performance of traditional (Rake) receiver techniques of
code division multiple access systems. CDMA is standardized
as the modulation scheme for third generation UMTS
(Universal Mobile Telecommunication Standard),... (Update)

...variance tends to diminish. However, it still remains to be seen how to decrease the noise variance. Based on extensive simulation results [14] it turned out that #(k) 1.5 k is feasible for our purposes, thus we use this function in all of the simulations. V. SIMULATION RESULTS...
