Abstract: The increasing complexity of High Performance
Computing (HPC) applications, especially scientific
simulations, has led to the development of the
meta-computation model of scientific applications.
In this model, an application is constructed from a
collection of independent software components
potentially written in different programming languages
and targeted for different machine architectures.
A software interconnection system is then
used to connect these heterogeneous components
