Abstract: This document defines the interface to the operating system running on each node (router) in an active network. A companion document describes the overall architecture of an active network [7]. That document identifies three layers of code running on each active node. At the lowest level, an underlying operating system (NodeOS) multiplexes the node's communication, memory, and computational resources among the various packet flows that traverse the node. At the next level, one or more execution ... (Update)
