Abstract: this paper. Third, we have simplified the discussion of the path, traffic, and demand matrices in that we have 8 implicitly assumed that the only attribute of interest is the traffic volume as a function of time. In the simplest case, the traffic volume represents the average load over some time scale (e.g., on a per-hour basis); however, other bandwidth measures, such as peak rate or effective bandwidth, are also possible.
