Abstract: I propose a program of Ph.D. thesis research on the theory and practice of how to easily and effectively program computers that are either fully or partially reversible, i.e., that either discard no information during their operation, or that do so only occasionally, and in a carefully controlled way. The main reason that reversible computers are interesting is that the fundamental physics of computation teaches us that an increasing degree of reversibility will be essential in future... (Update)
