Abstract: Software monitoring is a well-suited technique to support the development of dependable systems, and has been widely applied not only for this purpose, but also for others such as debugging, security, performance, etc. Software monitoring consists of observing the dynamic behavior of programs when executed, by detecting particular events and states of interest, and analyzing this information for specific purposes.
