Abstract: Intensional polymorphism, the ability to dispatch to di#erent routines based on types at run time, enables a variety of advanced implementation techniques for polymorphic languages, including tag-free garbage collection, unboxed function arguments, polymorphic marshalling, and flattened data structures.
