....Of course, the operational semantics cannot evaluate a program denoting a real number in finitely many steps. However, it can compute an arbitrarily small rational interval containing the real number in a sufficiently large number of steps. Based on previous work on domain theory and integration [11, 8], we show how to handle integration in Real PCF. In domain theoretic integration, one obtains increasingly better approximations to the value of the integral of a real valued function.
