....An experimental prototype of this machine and the language has been operative for several years now. One of the latest highlights in our research has been the design of the new L Language, a parallel general purpose programming language designed to meet the needs of symbolic computation (see (Kusche 1988)) For reasons of optimum hardware usage and highest possible efficiency, the new L Language was decided to rely on explicit coarse grain parallelism.
