Method Integration for Real-Time System Design and Verification - Priddin (2000)   (Correct)

....Statecharts, there are no clearly defined steps for producing a design. 4. Is there guidance for applying the method There are some studies by the creators, but they are small. 5. Is there tool support available for the method Although there is a considerable amount of published material [Stu96, SJ94] on MT, which is a tool for Modecharts, it has not yet become generally available. 6. Is it possible to animate stages of the design The MT tool according to the literature has a simulator which enables animation. 7. Is there support for proof MT according to the literature has a ....

....it can only be performed using tools, and it is processor and memory intensive in the extreme. We chose to investigate direct verification using model checking. However when it came to acquiring a tool we found that, although there are many papers, including [SJ94] and a PhD thesis by Stuart [Stu96] on a tool called MT that is specifically for Modechart specification and verification, the tool itself was not available outside the University of Texas at Austin, where it was created. We investigated the possibility of using other tools and found that one of the latest and fastest tools for ....

The Specification of Real-Time Systems - Du (1998)   (Correct)

....can be useful for verifying some restricted classes of properties. This is done by translating the Modechart specification into a computation graph, which encodes the possible sequences of events. RTL formulas can then be verified via state space exploration techniques on the computation graph [Stu96] The other approach to verify Modechart specifications is to translate it into some other formalisms for verification. An effort has been made to translate a subset of Modechart into ACSR, a timed process algebra [CK94] It is also possible to translate a subset of Modechart into Temporal CCS ....
