An Investigation of Supervised Learning in Genetic Programming - Gathercole (1998)   (19 citations)  (Correct)

....implying that the algorithm s sole use is to generate programs, although that may have been the original aim during its development. There are many approaches to the evolution of computer programs in CHAPTER 1. INTRODUCTION 11 cluding tree based GA (aka GP) Kinnear Jr. 93, Langdon 95, Crosbie Spafford 96, Brave 96] machine code GA, Nordin Banzhaf 95] and Artificial Life methods, Ray 91, Thearling Ray 94] etc. Unfortunately the term Genetic Programming is used to refer to both tree based GAs and the evolutionary generation of programs. This thesis concentrates on the aspect of GP which ....

Interactive Security Assistance for End-User Supervision of.. - Rasmusson (1996)   (Correct)

....not relevant for the Security Assistant. The design approach with semi autonomous sensors inspired and influenced the design considerations in Section 2.4. There are no experimental results yet, but a paper discussing how to structure the programs to make them more apt for mutation is available [10]. Instead of using genetic programming we believe that communication and negotiation using speech act based protocols offers greater versatility when extracting and refining new categories of information. Also, if programs will be changed often, it is less interesting to learn their behavior. ....
