....for initial study of protocols, MANET simulators are bound to make numerous assumptions due to the complexity of ad hoc networks resulting in inaccurate physical layer and environment models. Furthermore, different simulators often provide contradictory performance results for the same protocols [11]. Emulation offers more precise results than simulation since protocols are run over a live network.
