According to Bohm [12], mark and sweep conservative collectors seem to have a threshold of false pointer density, above which they don t work reliably. Once you get above this threshold, if you accidentally leak a Kbyte of main memory, it itself contains enough false pointers to cause at least another Kbyte leak, etc. ....
