....In this paper we describe some experiments with incorporating an uncertainty variate into isosurface rendering. Our visualization tool is part of a broader research effort to develop a formal model and a support environment for dealing with large multiresolution and adaptive resolution data sets [Spar94, Rhodes02]. A fundamental aspect of this model is the incorporation of local error measures into the data representation. Although our uncertainty visualization does not depend on any particular technique for generating the volume data, we start by describing our wavelet based multiresolution volume data ....
