To get high Q factors we must follow design strategies such as minimising the inductor resistance R and the parasitic capacitance and avoid cavities. These requirements are much easier to realise off chip than on chip [7]. Therefore the real co design issue is not the quality of the component which is defined by the performance of the chip or the substrate, but the chipsubstrate interconnect.
