Reddy describes a visual metric that describes the degree of visual detail that a user can perceive in a computer generated image, based on the images spatial frequencies [Reddy96a], and in [Reddy96b] he describes a simplification method that is designed to remove high frequency components of an object before small scale ones and to limit the region of simplification based on scale.
