Classifying the occurrences of ambiguous words with respect to sense distinctions, like in the experiment described in (Wiebe et al. 1997), has several disadvantages in our case. A tagset with one tag for every sense of an ambiguous word can be quite large. According to English dictionaries many words in English may be used in more than 20 di erent senses.
