....achieving a TRSL specification of a real time implementation. This method raises two questions: when is the TRSL specification a correct development of the RSL specification, and when does it satisfy the DC requirements. Below we summarise how we have addressed the second question in [XH99]. There is no syntactic integration between the DC and TRSL specification, but only a consistency requirement that state variables used in the DC specification are variables defined in the TRSL specification. Our approach for semantically linking DC and TRSL together has been to make an abstract ....
....DC formulas describing (parts of) the history of the observables of the system. The satisfaction (or refinement) relation between sentences in the two languages is then defined in terms of behaviours. The most central technical details follow below. For a full treatment of the topic, we refer to [XH99]. Technical details The operational rules of TRSL have been extended such that they define a labelled transition relation not only between configurations, but between configurations with so called behaviours. To be more precise, the transition relation has the form: ff with OE e ff 0 with ....

....we match the two histories against each other and nd that both rst have to wait 5 time units and then they can communicate. So a common history of wait 5; c x k c 3 is ( 5 9v 0 (dx = v 0 e (x = v 0 ) x = 3) 5. 2 Rule System For TRSL expressions being in a certain standard form [3], we have developed proof rules for deriving their common histories. Some expressions not being in this standard form can be converted into the standard form using the TRSL proof rules in [11] so in this sense we are able to nd the common history for more general expressions. The rule system de ....
