....An e mail mailbox is often used as an informal to do list. Some people send themselves e mail as a reminder to perform some activity at a later date. A study of e mail tool usage showed that when checking their e mail, people often flag messages containing to do items to create a visual reminder [8]. Another strategy is to file them in a special mail folder, creating the electronic equivalent of a paper based to do list.
