Abstract: Various technical applications are most appropriately described in terms of variational inequalities, that involve elliptic differential operators. Multigrid solvers for variational problems of this type are not well established, even though hierarchically refined meshes provide a natural setting for multilevel techniques. This may be due to the fact, that there is still no satisfactory analysis of their convergence properties. The key ingredient of a multigrid solver for a constrained... (Update)
