Abstract: The scheduling of tasks in safety critical systems such that the timing requirements are reliably met is often difficult. Safety critical systems are different to other systems because a failure to meet a requirement may lead to a catastrophic effect, for example an accident leading to loss of life. For this reason, there is a greater emphasis on verification and validation of software than with other types of systems. Safety critical systems are found in a wide range of industries including;...
