Abstract: The results from the performance suite in the ROMIO implementation show the scalability advantage of parallel
I/O. To achieve the maximum optimization possible on a large number of processors, programmers must use the
advanced features of MPI-IO (i.e., derived datatypes and collective operations). Parallel I/O evaluations were
