Abstract: We consider two extensions of traditional
terminological knowledge representation
languages, which are motivated by technical
applications such as configuration of
technical systems. The first extension integrates
"concrete" domains (such as numbers)
and concrete predicates on these domains
into the abstract terminological language.
The second extension introduces
transitive closure of roles, which can, for
example, be used to model transitivity of
the "part-of" relation.
