Abstract: In this paper we address the problem of recovering structure and motion from the contours of a smooth-curved surface. A novel and simpler technique for computing the structure of an object from its profiles is introduced. Experiments with real data show encouraging results, which are comparable to those obtained from much more sophisticated techniques. Furthermore, a new method for motion estimation from sequences of profiles is proposed. (Update)
