Abstract: In this work we present the Halo Membership Service, designed for maintaining the membership information about client nodes in a system with client{server architecture, where the volume of clients and the frequency of their connections and disconnections is large. A membership service that included core and client nodes providing both groups with similar semantics would ease the development of system components and applications. However, a large and dynamic group of clients is likely to... (Update)
