Abstract: The paper presents an automatic approach for the generalisation of 3D building models with regard to the visualisation of urban landscapes. Simplified versions of such models are not only needed for level of detail structures in real-time rendering, but also for web-based 3D GIS and for the presentation on mobile computing devices.
