Abstract: In this paper, we consider adaptive learning systems in the framework of context-aware computing. We introduce general paradigms for implementing real adaptivity. The paradigms consider inferring the contexts (user and use situation), selecting the action in the given context, social filtering approach when context is not known, and utilizing information about system dynamics in the form of hidden Markov models.
