Abstract: s to the receiver. We note that such paths do not have to be completely disjoint, i.e., it is sufficient for them to have disjoint points of congestion or bottlenecks. Existence of multiple paths with disjoint bottlenecks includes the following potential benefits: (a) reduction in correlation between consecutive packet losses which we believe will lead to improvements in the quality of delivered data, (b) increased throughput, and (c) ability to adjust to variations in congestion patterns on...
