Abstract: One of the goals of image feature extraction is to extract features from an image that are dependent on the scene, rather than the image, which also includes intensity information. In theory, a logarithmic transformation allows the extraction of many di#erent types of image features, with the magnitude of the extracted feature being more representative of the scene property. Unfortunately, the magnitude of the e#ect is usually dominated by quantisation and image noise. This paper ... (Update)
