Abstract:
We consider the problem of modeling TCP over wireless ad hoc network using the IEEE 802.11 protocol. By identifying suitable regeneration instants, we are able to apply the standard technique of regenerative processes to compute the long term average throughput achieved by a single TCP session. Simulations show that the proposed model predicts the TCP throughput to a very high level of accuracy. We then discuss how to extend this model to more general situations. I.
