Abstract: Anticipating every deviation from the norm is impossible in any realistic workflow/process model. Therefore, it is imperative to face the issue of coping, in a flexible manner, with unanticipated deviations, and to live with these deviations later on. We present an approach to these issues based on reifying workflows, especially their action and coordination aspects, as persistent objects, coupled with an earlier mechanism for exceptional objects. The approach is applied to two process... (Update)
